What does fall mean to you? To some it may mean the time when one watches the beautiful turning of the leaves. To others, it may mean pumpkin spice everything. Others still, it may be a small relief from the intense heat of the summer months.
It us, it means that it’s fun and spooky season in southern Indiana! This year, the Bloomfield Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring the first ever annual scarecrow contest for local businesses and community groups. This will not only foster festive spirit in the town, but also help businesses advertise and promote themselves to the community.
Our team combined their brainstorming skills: should we do a Wizard of Oz theme? A Rebel with a cause? A warrior-posed yoga instructor? In the end, we decided on something challenging and unique: a floating yogi.
We assembled a Creative Team led by the Creative Director to tackle the mission. In our workshop, Jennifer, Dustin, and Chandler engineered, measured, cut, pieced, placed, attached, draped, glued, hammered and put together our floating scarecrow. They worked hard, but had lots of fun while they were at it!
On Monday, October 1, the Creative Team set up the Rebel Herbs’ floating yogi next to the Bloomfield courthouse front steps. We love how our scarecrow turned out, and can’t wait to see if we will win the competition (the winners will be announced at the end of the month, at the Shawnee theater).
